Friday mornings are the worst. They suck big time. Even worst then Monday mornings; at least on Monday you know you have the whole week ahead of you and basically you put yourself in a state of mind whereas the most important thing on your mind is...work. On Friday, the only thing on your mind is the weekend: the weekend weather, the weekend plans, the weekend sex, the weekend drinking, the weekend driving, the weekend sleeping, the weekend...you get the point I'm sure.
Radio Suisse Romande has put out a story that according to a source of theirs, the whole Betancourt rescue Op is just a story. ... that the Columbian government just bsically paid a randsom to the FARC and because of their fragile state, the guerillas accepted the money and liberated 15 hostages. Too good to be true ? I can't understand why someone would question a risky jungle rescue operation that went so smoothly, not a single shot was fired... I mean, sounds real right ?
Also on this story, I'm a little confused here...Most reports stated 3 American contractors were also "saved" but this morning as I was reading RSR's article it stated:"A l'origine de la transaction, les Etats-Unis, qui comptaient trois agents du FBI parmi les quinze otages." There were 3 FBI agents in the 15 rescued hostages ? Why is it nobody else mentions this fact...
Oh, and the White House, probably jealous of all the attention given to the Columbian Special Forces stated that they had been working with Bogota ever since US hostages had been taken...and so they want a piece of the pie too.
Clearly, we'll never know the "real" story and honestly, I don't think we care much...at least not on a Friday morning.
